The
Ethnographic Film Committee and the CNRS
Images with the support of the Centre
for Mongolian and Siberian Studies will organise
a new edition of « Regards Comparés »
dedicated this year to the Mongolian area. |
Through
different documents (archives, documentaries,
research documents and feature films) we’ll
propose a reflexion on this region with a special
focus on shamanism, nomadism
and on the recent period called « post-socialist
transition » characterised by cultural
revival and economical and social crisis. |

The
screenings, organised by themes, will be followed
by debates and discussions with anthropologists
and filmmakers.The proposed documents will present
different approaches and point of views from American,
Belgian, Danish, Finland, French, German, Italian,
Mongolian, Russian directors… |

Saturday 22nd October a Round Table on « The
Revival of Mongolian Shamanism »
will be led by Marc Henri Piault, Président
