A dreamlike journey to the south of Iran with the sound of the damman (Dohol), a traditional drum being an integral part of the everyday culture. The damman drumbeat resonates at work, and at times both of joy and of sorrow.

By weaving together observational documentary footage, interviews and staged scenes, the film presents a narrative about contemporary building practices, competing aspirations and the precarious future of Djenne's renowned mud architecture.

A poetic record of the indigenous Kraho tribe. Hotxua, a high priest of laughter, strengthens and unites the group through joy, hugging and conversation. The film follows the tribe, their beliefs and the lifestyle which upholds their society, whose conception of the world is a balance between opposing forces and a respect for diversity.

The film explores the concept of ethnofiction, an experimental ethnographic film style inaugurated by Jean Rouch, in which the participants collaborate with the filmmaker to act out and improvise their own and others' life experiences. The film focuses on identity and discrimination in the daily lives of transgendered Brazilians living in Sao Paulo.
